The Sanctuary of the Great Gods is one of one of the most expressive of the Classical websites in the whole of Greece and the ambiguity of the faith worshipped here as well as its initiation ceremonies adds to the strange sense of discovering it. The Refuge of the Great Gods is quickly visited as a day trip from Hora. The Thermal baths right here (where the Village gets its name) are said to be excellent for those who suffer from Arthritis. The only sandy coastline on the Island gets on the South coastline as well as can be reached by normal watercrafts from Kamariotissa. There are some domatias here, but they fill out quickly. Ferryboats connect Samothraki with Kavala on the north Greek Mainland, where there are regular buses from Thessaloniki.
